IOMA 2005 'Artist of the Year'
11th
April 2005:
"OnOffOn have been declared overall winner of IOM's 2005
Artist of the Year Award
for their album 'Your Mind' which was reviewed recently in our
CD Reviews section."
"...Quite
simply, OnOffOn's 'Your Mind' is perhaps one of the most important
CD releases
in recent years to have completely overwhelmed its audience with
its progressive and
forward thinking amalgamations of Jazz, Rock, Blues, Funk, and
imminently purveyed head-space entertainment value."

OnOffOn CD Review, March 2005
"Who
remembers excellence in composition, musicianship and production?
The kind
of excellence that is usually awarded a Platinum presentation
disc by the RIAA
and a standing ovation when the band arrive on stage to collect
their award
by a scantily clad supermodel on behalf of the record industry?"

OnOffOn Interview - April 2005
"Elley
Wilson first introduced me to Von Babasin and OnOffOn, his late
father Harry,
and a whole new world of Progressive Jazz, Rock and Blues fusion
back in December 2004.
I remember vividly, the startled and enthusiastic glare she carried
around the office
for weeks after.. like it was ten minutes ago! Although I was
completely overwhelmed
with the MP3 versions of the music these guys had put together,
it wasn't really until
I got to review the album 'Your Mind', that I was well and truly
vaccinated and
made subsequently immune from anything I had previously heard
in this treasure
chest of a genre. The thing is, for me and the rest of the planet,
we now have
something completely astonishing in our midst and to find out
more about this
incredibly accomplished 'purveyor of excellence' it was necessary
to drag Von
over the border to answer for OnOffOn's mortal sins..."
LIVE
and IN PERSON... ONOFFON
"Last
night my husband 'Bear' and I drove to the heart of Hollywood
to hear Von Babasin and ONOFFON. It was a rare experience.
The
club ROCCO is straight out of a Raymond Chandler novel.. Quiet
dark streets, cement glowing blue and grey under dimly lit streetlights...
Walk
up to the Theatre, greeted by the music of the extreme talent
of ONOFFON.
Swingin' to some asymetric rhythms, these Musician's delivered
a ninety-minute set of
exquisitely executed original material that came straight from
their hearts and minds.
'Surrender
Now' from their first CD, opened the extended set, followed by
various
pieces including 'Weekend in Montreal', and 'Mardi Gras', which
was featured
on the front page of Mp3.com this week. The music of ONOFFON was
IN CONCERT... in an elegant... 'loft-esque' performance theatre
which
envokes memories of the late forties and fifties... when West
Coast jazz
was boppin' in the form of Charlie Parker AND Harry Babasin (Von's
Dad).
We
hope that ONOFFON continues to play there, and keeps inviting
us.
This is a great opportunity to put 'Indie' spirit to work...Von
is a tireless
supporter of his music, helpful to everyone, with a great vision...
Your
life will be enriched by their music."

"Congrats Von......
Couldn't
happen to a more talented group of MONSTER MUSICIANS....
OnOffOn's
Innovative Intermingling of Jazz and Pop should be on the front
page
of Rolling Stone. It is my hope that you get the recognition you
deserve for being a
"creative milestone" delivering a new style of Jazz
for the masses in the new millennium."
